Ayurveda realizes that fasting affects people differently depending on their dosha.
Kapha types, which tend to weight and inertia, respond best. Temporary fixed cleanses stagnation, lighter the body and restore alertness.
Pitta types, characterized by sharp digestion and strong appetite, can suffer if meals hope completely. Light fruit, chaas or Moong Dal soup keeps balance without stocking irritability.
Vata types, light and mobile by nature, are most vulnerable. Prolonged fasting can aggravate anxiety or dryness. For them, hot khichdi or slightly seasoned vegetables are safer than strict abstinence.
This variation is central: a practice that activates one constitution can empty another.
