The power of weekly nights
“My mom used to tell us that you have to have a date night once a week. You don’t understand its significance, but it’s as important. We try to do it as much as possible,” shared upasana.For Upasana and Ram Charan, these date nights do not always mean to go out. Often it is about creating a quiet, uninterrupted space at home. “It’s at home, but without other distraction. No phones, no TV. Just check in to each other. If we have problems with each other, we definitely talk about it. Communication is something we are still building, and we will continue to build until we die, ”she explained.
Relationship lessons from the world of company
Upasana, with inspiration from the corporate world, revealed that she and Ram Charan conduct what she calls “relationship reviews.” “In business you review your goals. Why don’t you do it with relationships? Every quarter, as if you have board meetings, you must have a meeting with yourself to understand what your personal goals are, what your family goals are and what your business goals are,” she said, showing how intentional their marriage method is.
Partnerships that are anchored in equality and support
Upasana emphasized that her mother’s advice also reinforced the importance of equality and support in a marriage. “We come in as equal, we understood it quite early in our marriage. He is a very, very safe man. And just a sure man will support a woman and push her to do more. That’s what he does for me. Being there with me through my ups and downs, and that I am there with him, is our secret sauce.” She said.
