Directed by Mohit Suri marked the romantic drama Ahaan’s debut in films, while Anet had previously appeared in Salaam Venky (2022) and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’. In a new interview, Canet opened about the emotional turbulence that she experienced despite the praise that came her after big girls did not cry. Balancing college and actors, she said she often struggled with anxiety, self -doubt and the fear of economic instability in the entertainment industry.Aneet shared that she felt “worried” while handling studies and shots, and to be on a set sometimes felt “culturally different” because she was surrounded by “big people.” Although she maintained calmly outward, she was overwhelmed by contract discussions and travel plans. “I didn’t know if I would. Of course, I did things, but I didn’t know if I had enough certainty for me to make money just from this. So I was still looking for other alternatives and what schools I would apply to after college, she revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan India.

The actor credited big girls Cry Cry Creator Nitya Mehra And director Karan Kapadia as her “Bombay parents”, and shared that their encouragement came at a time when she needed the assurance of her talent and future. About the same period, when she was 19, Anet got a call from Casting director Shanoo Sharma, who invited her to audition for Yash Raj movies. Although the aneet had to reject because of college commitments and a crowded itinerary, she described the moment as special: “Also getting that call from her (Sharma) was huge.After completing their studies, Anet decided to reconnect with Sharma. She remembers that she felt “shaking in the car” before their meeting, but said that the Casting director immediately made her calm. That meeting finally led to her audition for Saiyaara – and her breakthrough role. Saiyaara was released in theaters on July 18, 2025 and tells the story of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a passionate musician and Vaani Batra (Anet Padda), a reserved poet. When they work together to create music, they heal from emotional wounds and fall in love, just to face a heartbreaking twist when Vaani is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s early beginning.
