Aamir Khan Has been a pioneer at the ticket window with its films that started RS 100, RS 200 and RS 300 crore clubs in Bollywood. The first movie to enter RS 100 Crore Club was the 2008 Superhit movie Ghajini directed by AR Murgadoss and also presented Asin and Jiah Khan. The film’s Total Lifetime Collection was on RS 114 crore. And now Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A legend Chapter 1 has passed Ghajini’s lifetime collection in just 9 days as its Hindi collection stands on Rs 115.75 crore. Kantara 2 is a sequel to 2022 blockbuster film Kantara that had moved on to Mint almost RS 310 crore at the checkout. Of the total collection of Hindi version, RS 84 Crore had contributed even though the film released Hindi two weeks after it released on South Market. But for Kantara 2, the manufacturers decided to release the film in all markets on the same day’s date. The movie on its first day at Hindi got Rs 18.5 crore, day 2 was on Rs 12.5 crore, day 3 Rs 19.5 crore and day (Sunday) was Rs 23 crore. On Monday (day 5) the collection was RS 8.75 crore and on day 6 it was Rs 11.25 crore, on day 7 the collection was dipped to Rs 8.25 crore and day 8 was on Rs 7 crore. On day 9 (2nd Friday), the film added another RS 7 crore to its kitten and thus took the overall Hindi collection of the film to RS 115.75 CRORE-NUDGING past Ghajini’s lifetime collection. In the list of highest gross films at Hindi Cinema, Kantara 2 is now at 105 position and with the second weekend that kicks the film is expected to reinforce at least 10 places until Sunday evening.
