A popular brand of chocolate -covered fruit talk products sold throughout the country in the United States has been recalled, as it may contain metal objects. The foreign substance can cause traumatic damage, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.Here’s everything you need to know about the recall.
What are the recalled products?
On September 26, TRU Mrs., LLC announced that its third -party manufacturer, Georgia Nut Company (GNC) voluntarily revokes specific varieties by TRU Mrs. Frozen products due to the presence of foreign objects. The products recalled in the United States include Tru Mrs. Freeze dried strawberries in dark & white chocolate and tru wife freeze dried strawberries & crème.
Why are the products recall?
The products are recalled due to the potential presence of metal in the product. There may be hard or sharp foreign objects in food that can cause “traumatic damage”. These include lacing and perforation of tissues in the mouth, tongue, neck, stomach and intestine as well as damage to the teeth and gums. The recall began after a consumer warned the company. No cases of injury or illness have been reported until September. 26.
How do I identify the recalled products?
The two recalled products are Tru Mrs. Freeze dried strawberries in dark & white chocolate, and Tru Mrs. Freeze dried strawberries & crème, sold in bags of different sizes. Where were the affected products distributed?
According to the FDA, these products were distributed in the United States. They were sold through stores and online details, including but not limited to: Albertons, CVS, Food Lion, Heb, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard’s and Target.
What should I do if you have the recalled products?
Those who have the recalled products are recommended not to consume them. Instead, they should be thrown away. You can also get a refund by filling in TRU FRU’s online refund form to get a coupon.
