A decade ago, Bahubali changed Indian film forever. It was not just a movie, the coined word Pan-India and since then each movie has wanted to recreate SS Rajamouli’s magic on the big screen. The film provided scale, crushed regional borders and introduced Prabhas to the whole country. Now, on the 10-year anniversary of this cinematic juggerna, the team is reunited to release Baahubali: The Epic, a specially edited 3.5-hour version of both, re-entered the big screen.In the middle of this heritage stands Shobu YarlagaddaThe producer who helped to bring SS Rajamouli’s vision of life. He stated that the idea of putting two films together and making them tried in 2018-2019, he said, “we actually tried something similar around 2018-19, it was just an editing. We combined both films to see what it would look like, but everyone was busy with different projects, and we lost it. “But for the 10th anniversary he wanted to do something special and thus they started working on the film again, so he and his team talked to SS Rajamouli and he suggested “Why do we not actually combine both into one and tried it?” . Shobhu also revealed that it is Rajamouli who personally edit the film, he said, “it is completely his vision. Since March or April he has edited it. It has gone through several versions and the last cut was locked just a few days ago”.When Baahubali: Epic was announced, it was reported that the film would have a driving time of more than 5 hours but now the film’s running time is about 3.5 hours. When we asked how the maturity was drastically reduced, Shobu said: “No, no, it would never be five hours, we had not announced the review because the investigation was not completed. People have just added both operating times together and adopted. “He also says that some scenes and songs have been eliminated in service for stories, he says“ some scenes and songs have been completely removed. There will be less screen time for some characters. But the flow is so seamless that I do not think anyone will have complaints. Maybe a little disappointment, but no complaints. “He also revealed that in the actual script stage as early as 2011–2012 they knew that the film would be made in two parts. He says “When we first heard the whole story in 2012, we realized that it could not fit into a standard format. The story was too emotional, too great. Through the end of 2012, we (Rajamouli, the author Dr Vijendra Prasad and the producers) began to divide it into two parts. We started shooting in 2013.”Shobu also revealed that his journey could be divided into two parts before 2015 and after 2015, the Baahubali, which was released in 2015. He said: “As producers, both periods were completely different. The period 2013 to 2015 was definitely very, very stressful … We all stretched out everything we had done. But when the film released it was a success in Hindi, until then there was no Pan India market and Hindi was not a market existing market but Baahubali showed that there was one.
