Just a minute ago I checked my phone and saw a message from Mammukka (Mammooty) congratulated me. He said I was excellent in Kantara. This is a benchmark movie, just like KGF. It is a matter of great pride and happiness for a malayalee to be part of a movie on 1000-crore,”
Jayaram deals with claims about making small roles in other industries
Jayaram also reflected on how the Malayalee audience sometimes comments that he takes up less roles in other languages. He made it clear that although some roles can be shown briefly in the final cut, they are significant in depth and performance.“Of love for me, Malayalees often say that I go to other industries and do small roles. But in big films, when the final production comes out, some roles may seem shorter, even if they are significant characters. In Kantara, that was not the case. It is a movie made with enormous devotion and hard work – three years of effort deserves to be studied.”
How Jayaram came on board for ‘Kantara chapter 1’
When he talked about how he came on board, Jayaram shared that Rishab Shetty invited him to play a character with a large emotional range. “It was Rishab Shetty who called me the movie. I told him that I had already seen the first edge. He said he was a big fan of me,” Jayaram said.He added, “When I reached Karnataka I realized how significant the character I was actually playing was. Rishab explained that the character goes through a remarkable journey – from childhood to his transformation at the end of the film. That transformation was the reason he threw me.”
