A shoulder pain is hardly linked to lung cancer, as most people think it originates from a muscle draw or simply have “sleep wrong”. On the other hand, even chest pain is more attached to the heart and not the lungs themselves. However, lung cancer tumors that push against nerves and breast structures lead to ongoing pain and discomfort in the chest and shoulder, although there is no evidence of injury. The pain becomes more serious when patients laugh, cough or do any activity that requires deep breathing. People often overlook chest pain because it occurs in various minor medical conditions, which leads to incorrect diagnoses. A doctor must examine patients who experience ongoing chest or shoulder pain, as additional symptoms such as cough or weight loss may indicate cancer.
